Terms & Conditions
1. Purpose of the Platform:
This platform facilitates the connection between workers and employers in a secure, efficient, and safe manner.
2. Role of the Platform:
The platform solely connects workers and employers. We do not manage salaries, contracts, or daily work supervision. All employment-related decisions are made directly between the worker and the employer.
3. Registration & Information:
Workers must provide accurate and complete information. Employers must use this information appropriately. Providing false information may result in account suspension or termination.
4. Information We Collect:
IHURIRO collects and processes the following information: full name, age, gender, work arrangement, level of education, phone number, languages spoken, current residence, information of two family members (names and phone numbers), any additional information voluntarily provided, local administrative identification document, as well as technical information such as IP address and login timestamps. Employer phone numbers are stored and used for login verification, access control, and security purposes.
5. Information of Third Parties:
A worker who provides information about family members confirms that they have the authority to provide such information and that the concerned individuals have been informed.
6. Accuracy of Information Provided:
Workers confirm that the information provided is accurate. The platform reserves the right to reject, delete, or suspend accounts containing false or misleading information.
7. Legal Basis for Processing:
Processing of personal data is based on the worker’s consent at the time of registration, the contractual relationship arising from the use of the platform, and the legitimate interests of the platform in connecting workers and employers.
8. Right to Share Information:
A worker’s information may be shared with employers to enable them to make informed decisions, including names, phone numbers, and other information provided. Other information (local administrative identification documents and contact details of two family members) is securely stored and may only be disclosed where there is a lawful and justified reason.
9. Public Display of Information:
By registering, the worker agrees that certain information may be publicly displayed on the platform for employers to view, including name, age, gender, type of work, languages, education level, location, and other voluntarily provided details. The phone number is not publicly displayed unless payment has been made or as otherwise permitted by the platform.
10. Display of Phone Number:
The worker’s phone number is not displayed until secure payment has been completed.
11. Payment Terms:
All fees are determined by the platform. Payments are non-refundable except in cases of platform error.
12. Responsibilities of Employers:
Employers must use the platform in compliance with applicable laws. Misuse of the platform may result in legal action.
13. Data Protection Policy:
All personal data is stored and processed in accordance with Law Nº 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy. Data is used solely for connecting workers and employers and is not sold or shared without lawful authorization.
14. Worker’s Rights Regarding Their Data:
Workers have the right to request access to their personal data, correct it, delete it, object to its processing, or withdraw their consent at any time. They may also lodge a complaint with the competent authority in Rwanda.
15. Data Retention Period:
Personal data is retained as long as the account remains active or until the worker requests deletion, unless otherwise required by law.
16. Account Deactivation and Data Retention:
A worker may request deletion of their account at any time. Upon successful identity verification, the account will be immediately deactivated and removed from public view on the platform.
The personal data associated with the account will be securely retained for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of deactivation. This retention is necessary for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, security investigations, and the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
During this retention period, the data will not be publicly accessible and will only be accessed where strictly necessary for the purposes stated above.
After the expiration of the twelve (12) month retention period, the personal data will be permanently deleted from the platform’s systems unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law.
17. Security Measures:
The platform uses HTTPS to secure communications, password encryption to protect credentials, restricted database access controls, and technical safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized access to personal data.
18. International Data Transfers:
Personal data may be stored and processed on servers located outside Rwanda through cloud service providers (Supabase), in compliance with the requirements of Law Nº 058/2021 relating to personal data protection.
19. Notification in Case of a Security Incident:
In the event of a personal data breach that may affect personal information, IHURIRO will notify affected individuals and the competent authority in Rwanda within the timeframe required by law.
20. Data Controller:
IHURIRO acts as the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data. For questions regarding your personal data, you may contact us via the platform’s official email or through the contact methods provided on the website.
